The atmosphere was absolutely electric as teams rolled into the venue. Organized by the Tanzania Tarmac Motor Vehicle Sports Club, this TTMC drift competition was designed to test the limits of both man and machine. The organizers made sure safety was the top priority, meticulously mapping out a tight, technical course that kept the crowds protected while forcing drivers to rely on pure skill rather than just horsepower.
When it comes to Kenya vs Tanzania drifting, the rivalry is legendary, and the pride on the line is immense. Team Kenya brought absolute monsters to the strip, including Tiko Bakisan’s menacing Toyota JZX100 powered by a manual-swapped 1JZ engine. They came prepared to show out and execute with unmatched precision.
However, Team Tanzania was ready to defend their home turf with pure grit. Local legends from the Dom Riders in Dodoma arrived with stock but lethal Alteza 3S builds, proving that you do not need forced induction to put on a spectacular show. Drivers poured in from Dar es Salaam, Mbeya, and Chunya, uniting the nation’s best under the banner of Arusha car culture.
To win at the Arusha Drift Event 2026, drivers had to conquer a highly technical and unforgiving track. The TTMC organizers laid out a course filled with tight drums, demanding figure-eights, and massive donuts. He pledged his full support to make Arusha the motorsport headquarters for the entire African continent. He discussed plans to link these high-performance automotive events with Tanzania’s booming tourism sector—envisioning scenic rallies past Mount Kilimanjaro and promising the development of a dedicated, permanent tarmac track for future competitions.
